Description

Cop-It Fungicide

Active Ingredient: Copper as Copper Ammonium Acetate @ 93g/L

Similar or comparable to Liquicop Copper Fungicide (Nufarm)

Cop-It Fungicide is a liquid Fungicide/Bactericide copper solution for the control of a wide range of fungicide and bactericide diseases on horticultural and viticultural crops. The use of high-quality effective copper for the control of fungal pathogens is essential for effective disease control in many crops.

Cop-It is a dark blue aqueous complex of copper and ammonia with various additives to deliver a stable liquid copper formulation.  Cop-It Fungicide is registered for disease control in a wide variety of vegetables, stone and pome fruits, nuts, tree crops, turf, ornamentals, broadacre and more.

Being a refined solution, Cop-It Fungicide provides outstanding disease control. Cop-It leaves a durable, micro-thin film that is more persistent than wettable powders, strongly resisting wash off from rain and irrigation. This means fewer applications and longer-lasting foliar protection.

Why choose Cop-It Fungicide;

  • Uses less metallic copper than other copper fungicides thus reduces the potential for copper toxicity.
  • It leaves a durable, micro-thin film that is more persistent than wettable powders, strongly resisting wash off from rain and irrigation.
  • Contains no solids, so season to season waste is eliminated.
  • Fully dissolved formulation.
  • It will not freeze, and if the container is kept closed, it will not evaporate.
  • Ideal for both ground and aerial application, and can be applied at any time of day.
  • Highly compatible with most pesticides.
  • Highly rainfast.
  • No reported resistance to labelled diseases.
  • No pre-mixing, 100% water-soluble.
  • No dust, easy clean handling.
  • No clogging or abrasion of pumps.
  • Less residue build-up on crops than other formulations.
  • No product settling like SC formulations.
  • Excellent compatibility.

What sort of situations can Cop-It Fungicide be used in;

  • Vegetables: Beans, Brassicas (ie Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage & Cauliflower), Capsicums, Carrots, Celery, Cucurbits (ie Cucumbers, Melons, Pumpkins, Squash, Watermelon, Zucchini etc), Lettuce, Onions, Parsnips, Peas, Potatoes, Red Beet, Rhubarb, Silverbeet, Spinach, Tomatoes.
  • Fruit: Bananas & Strawberries.
  • Other Crops: Ornamentals & Tobaccos Seed Beds.
  • Tree & Vine Crops: Apples, Apricots, Avocados, Cherries, Citrus, Kiwifruit, Lychees, Mangoes, Nectarines, Passionfruit, Peaches, Pears, Plums, Tropical Fruit & Vines (Wine Grapes & Table Grapes).
  • Nuts: Almonds, Macadamias, Pecans & Walnuts

Cop-It Fungicide is to be used as a preventative spray, generally applied before or at the first sign of disease. Many diseases infect plants 2 weeks before symptoms appear, so applications should preferably start before symptoms appear.

Copper Fungicides are considered preventative, not curative of plant diseases. Use the highest indicated rate per crop when disease incidence is high or expected to be, depending on rainfall and temperature. The lower rate is suitable for general preventive sprays under normal conditions

Cop-It Fungicide 'directions for use' label contains Critical Comments regarding the application timing to control leaf curl on Nectarines and Peaches. "Correct timing is critical for effective control - Spray when buds are swelling, but before and within one week of bud opening."  "Where leaf curl is or is likely a severe problem based on previous experience, the following program should be followed:   1. Autumn- apply at leaf fall  2. Apply at the first sign of bud swell and repeat one week later ". The 'directions for use' can be found on the Cop-It product screen. Tips For Use

  • Cop-It is to be used as a preventative spray, generally applied before or at the first sign of disease.
  • Many diseases infect plants 2 weeks before symptoms appear, so applications should preferably start before symptoms appear.
  • It is essential that Cop-It be kept agitated throughout the entire mixing and spraying operation.
  • Cop-It must be applied within one hour of the product being diluted with water, therefore mix only the amount that can be used.
  • All containers containing the concentrated product must be sealed properly once opened to prevent the loss of ammonia and the possible formation of crystals.

Adjuvants

  • The addition of a sticker-spreader such as Flextend is recommended, especially when applying Cop-It to Brassicas, Faba Beans, Peas and Onions, irrespective of the method of application.
  • Use of oils and wetting agents is not recommended as these may enhance uptake of copper and increase phytotoxicity.

Application

  • In common with other non-systemic/preventative fungicides, the application of Cop-It should aim to thoroughly cover all plant surfaces. Do not apply in water volumes resulting in application rates of
  • less than 2.5 L Cop-IT/ha unless otherwise specified.

Mixing:

  • Fill the spray tank with three-quarters of the required volume of water.
  • Add any tank-mix products to the spray tank first and check pH.
  • The stability and efficacy of Cop-It are pH-dependent.
  • Do not apply in a spray solution having a pH of < 6.0 as phytotoxicity may occur.
  • If pH > 7.0, adjust to pH 6 – 7 with Hygrobuff or a suitable buffer/acidifier.
  • Do not use a phosphate buffer/acidifier with Cop-It.
  • Then, slowly pour Liquicop into the spray tank, with the agitation system actively running.
  • Thoroughly mix and top-up to the required volume with water.
  • The formation of an aqua gel is normal, but will not clog nozzles.

Restraints:

  • Do not apply when either hot (above 35°c) or frost-prone conditions prevail.
  • Do not apply when poor drying conditions exist or if it is likely to rain before the spray is dry.
  • Do not apply to wet crops.
  • Do not apply to copper-shy crops or cultivars.
  • Do not mix with acidifying/buffering agents unless they are required to maintain the ph between 6 & 7.  The stability and efficacy of cop-it is ph dependent.
  • Do not mix with phosphate-based acidifiers or buffers.

Storage:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
  • All containers containing the concentrated product must be sealed properly once opened to prevent loss of ammonia and the possible formation of crystals.

Safety Directions:

  • May irritate eyes and skin.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • Wash hands after use.

First Aid:

  • If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126.
  • For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
